📖 The Interview Question
For a fictional school newspaper, Nia planned to interview a caretaker. Her first question was, 'Do you like your job?' A yes or no would not tell readers much. She changed it to, 'What problem did you solve this week, and how did you solve it?' The caretaker described repairing a sticking door. Nia learned that a specific, open question could lead to a story instead of a single-word answer.
1. Why might the first question give little information?
2. What is the revised question about?
3. What example does the caretaker give?
4. What makes the second question open-ended?
