📖 How Insulation Slows Heat Transfer
Insulation slows the movement of heat between places with different temperatures. Materials such as foam, wool, or trapped air can reduce heat transfer because they do not conduct thermal energy as quickly as many metals. Insulation does not create heat. Instead, it helps a warm object stay warm longer or a cool object stay cool longer by slowing energy transfer to the surroundings.
1. What does insulation do?
2. Name one insulating material from the passage.
3. Does insulation create heat?
4. How can insulation help a cool object?
✏️ Writing
Write 1–2 paragraphs explaining how you could test two insulating materials fairly.
➕ Math
